I made this record after the kidnapping of my daughter, Melodie, to thank Spain for their support during the ordeal. Gracias España came about when I decided to record a medley that was comprised of a number of famous Spanish songs. Melodie was rescued not only by the Spanish police, but also by the Spanish people. This song is my Thank You to them. Also included on this album is the song Madre, which I had recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra just before the kidnapping.
